My Sincerest Apology

I would like to give my earnest apology to RPN 9’s management for my reckless behavior on my last post. I am sorry that I have accused them without any proof of being callous to TV audiences. This has something to do with the unexpected preemption of SMACK DOWN.

The Return

Okay, I know I had been absent for a very long time (almost 3 months since my last post). I was just recuperating from my "after graduation disease" and now, at this moment, I am perfectly well and healthy. Just last weekend, I was given a clean bill of health by my kin. So now I have the perfect reason why I need to write and jot down my incarcerated thoughts and feelings.

Lately, RPN 9 had not been showing SMACK DOWN on its regular schedule. It was replaced by NBA Playoff. This unexpected turn of event infuriated me. I really enjoy watching SMACK DOWN and the television network's management uncaringly replaced it without even announcing when SMACK DOWN will return. Now, I missed watching two exciting and exploding episodes.

Anyway, this week I will start to look for a real and well - paying job. This job search activity is really messing my mind. Recently, I have been having mixed feeling of anger, frustration, anxiety, and depression. Hopefully, this will end soon.

To all my college buddies, good luck in the pharmacy licensure examinations. May you all pass with flying colors. (Dont ask why I didn't include myself).

Unforeseen ULTRA Tradegy and Irresponsible Words

After finishisng my computer assignments last saturday morning, I watched the news about the tragedy outside Philsports Arena (formerly ULTRA) where more than 30, 000 fans of "Wowowee" are lining up and waiting for the 1st anniversary of the program . More than 70 people were trampled and 300 were injured due to stampede.

Personally, I am a fan of ABS -CBN's noontime show "Wowowee." And, I know the program's intention is not to convey sadness but happiness. This unforeseen tradegy is extremely depressing and heartbreaking.

Last Wedensday afternoon, I heard on the radio the irresponsible words of DILG USEC. MARIUS CORPUZ during the press conference of the commitee he headed that was tasked to investigate the ULTRA tragedy. He said that the people were treated like a ANIMALS by the organizers and the offer of few tickets to such a large crowd was like "throwing a small piece of meat to a pack of hungry wolves." It was presumed that his statements were official and part of the 72 hours report.

Mr. Corpuz allegedly accused ABS - CBN and the event organizers were responsible for the tragedy. According to him, he was only telling the “truth.” “The truth hurts but it’s the truth...I was just stating the truth based on the statements of the people who were there. It’s hard to face the truth sometimes but we have to face it. And I’m willing to face the consequences for saying the truth,” he said.

If Mr. Corpuz wants to state his personal opinions, he shoud do it in a proper place, not during the presentation of the finished 72 hours report of the committe.

By the way the fact finding body were composed of his undersecretary Corpuz as head, Marius Corpuz, Mayor Vicente Eusebio of Pasig, the National Capital Regional Police Office chief, Director Vidal Querol, the executive director of the Office of Civil Defense and representatives from the Department of Health and the Bureau of Fire Protection.

I truly believe that it was not all ABS - CBN's fault. I believe that the the security of ULTRA, local government and PNP of Pasig were also responsible.

Let us pray for the souls of the departed and the injured.

The Greatest Show of our Faculty !!!!!!

Last Wednesday, I, Eree, June, Sheryl and Odette watched the much awaited and critically acclaimed variety show of our faculty, EXPOSED. At first, I was hesistant to go and watch the show because I had many assignments and reports to finish. Good thing I changed my mind that day.

The show was terribly good, and for that I was and still now in shock.

Before I forget, I would like to congratulate our class president, Mr. Renz Cadiang for overextending his upper and lower extremities and his ala DI style (Ayos!!!), Mr. Ken Pipo for his performance ala John Travolta, Ms. Jane Caguiat, Ms. Aunee Danganan, Mr. Aguiala (Go Sir!!! Retrospect

Last 2 to 3 years ago, I wrote a poem entitled "Winter."

Winter

Cold chills whisk behind,
As I look upon the white barren land,
A feeling of uneasiness arises inside,
Not knowing the reason why.

Midst the trickling snow,
Billow of unsureness reeking wide,
Bemusing and pummeling inside,
My juvenile heart.

Between the coldness and the hearth
Weighing both to understand
Which is heftier than the other
A decision fraught with pain.

Praying to Father above
To warmth the coldness inside
As the flakes gradually disappear
An answer…yet to find out.
